Exclusion is the process of excluding. So in the pest control world, residential exclusion is the process of keeping insects, rodents and other wildlife from being able to gain entry into a residence. This is the most proactive and long-term method of keeping unwanted pests form getting into a house, apartment, condominium, or duplex. This is achieved by using the following materials depending upon the location, type of size of the hole or gap that is being excluded: various types of caulks, expandable foam, steel polymer, copper mesh, ¼” galvanized wire, metal flashing or any other kind of construction material for larger jobs.

Locations on a residence where exclusion occurs include: weep holes, garage door gaps, hvac entry gaps, irrigation wire entry gaps, dryer vent, hose bib entry, gas line entry, window screens, window edge gaps, wall expansion joint gaps, brick cracks, brick to siding gaps, bottom of stucco wall gaps, bottom of wall siding gaps, roof to soffit gaps, soffit joint screens, fireplace screens, sewer stack pipes, turbine screens, compound roof joints and gable screens.

If this is done properly on any new or older home, there will be a dramatic decrease in any pest gaining entry. Therefore, we perform a basic exclusion on all our residential customers. Check out our residential pest control plans at https://backyardcomfortandpestcontrol.com/pest_control_plans.asp
